The LF-097 Thanksgiving Turkey Lantern celebrates the harvest season with a proudly strutting turkey in full feather. The bird stands with chest lifted and tail feathers fanned in a wide semicircle, each feather a separate steel-and-fabric panel internally lit in warm orange, copper and brown, with gold tips that glow like embers. The turkey can be produced from 3 to 7 metres in height, and the tail fan can be a full semicircle, a partial fan or a modest closed tail for a gentler look. Feather colours can be classic autumn warm tones, a white-and-gold premium scheme, or a vibrant multicolour display. Assembly takes one to two days with a light crane: the body and legs are set, the tail frame is erected behind the body, and the feather panels are hooked on from the centre outward so the fan builds correctly. The scene elements are placed on their own small footings. Electrical connection is a single IP65 base feed with fused loops for the body, tail and scene, an earth-leakage breaker and a dusk sensor. Weekly checks cover the tail-frame fixings, the body mounts and the anchor bolts; the fabric is cleaned with a soft brush. The feather panels are the most exposed elements and are inspected after high-wind days; a spare feather kit is supplied. LED modules are serviceable through a rear access panel in the body. At season's end the feather panels are removed first and stored flat, and the body modules are crated for reuse in the next autumn season.
